Back....

We made it back to Kathmandu on November 17th, making it all told an amazing 32 day trek. I'll be writing up the trek over the next few days (weeks?) as obviously we did not make any posts from the trail. Namche did have internet but it was 10 times more expensive than Kathmandu....so posting had to wait.

Overall, it was a terrific experience. Tons of changes from last time as would be expected, many good, some not so good. From Jiri to Lukla there were very few trekkers, then at Lukla the traffic jams started. Walking back out was a treat, as we experienced quiet one again. We did try a new exit point...taking the bus from Bandar to Kathmandu. This bus service started just 2 weeks ago and is definitely not for the faint hearted. It took 4.5 hours to get from Bandar to Jiri along a very rough approximation of a road (see pic). Total trip time to Kathmadu was 13.5 hours, but 1.5 hours of that was stuck about 3 km from Kathmandu in an evening traffic jam.

Next post will start a day to day recap of the trek.
